Celebi is laughing. Grovyle is staring at her and shaking his head.

"Our world almost became nothing and you only sit there and laugh."

She isn't really sitting, she is hovering a bit, but Grovyle feels his point is made.

Still she laughs. "Dear Grovyle, aren't you even happy that the world yet stands, and is still filled with light? By the expression on your face you would think that we lived in the dark world of stopped time."

"I would never have let that happen," says Grovyle. "You know that. I was willing to give my life and this world."

Celebi flies near him and puts a hand on his arm. "I could never really picture it, you know. Worse than blackness, nothingness. My mind and yours and all of this undone."

"It is impossible to picture. But would you rather have a world with time stopped?"

She shakes her head, hovering now with her face near his. "No. And now we have both -- our world, and an end to the terrible place of stopped time. And yet you frown."

"Some of us do not spend all our time smiling, you silly creature," he replies. His tone is sharp, but when he sees her face fall he speaks more gently. "I am just the serious sort; don't let it worry you. You never have before."

Celebi brushes her wings over his cheek. "I always worry for you, don't you know that? It was losing you that concerned me more than losing myself."

He looks into her eyes but doesn't answer. These moments make him feel awkward. To admit that he also feared losing her would be to admit to weakness.

"I think I know what it is," she continues. "You were ready to make a huge sacrifice, and now you feel as if it were never taken. As if you are unworthy."

He stares. "That is... very close to the truth, Celebi."

"The idea of the world ending was enormous, and the idea of it continuing seems small in comparison," she says.

Grovyle nods. Celebi always surprises him, and he realizes yet again that she is far wiser than he has ever given her credit for.

"I was so prepared for the end that now I barely know how to continue," he admits. "I have nothing and everything."

"Come," she says, flying toward the top of the hill. He follows as best he can, watching her fluttering wings. They rise to the top, and he looks down into a huge field of white flowers. The blossoms seem to stretch everywhere, and with his plant nature he can smell their blossoms and feel their pollen on his skin. It is a wonderful sight, he admits to himself.

"Can you not feel happy, dear Grovyle, that a place like this still exists? That your nothing has truly become an everything?"

"I am not ridiculous enough to want the world to end to spare my pride. And yes, this is beautiful."

They remain silent, gazing out together at the bright sunlit world.

"And, Celebi..."

"Yes?"

"I am, as I said, a serious sort, but I am glad to see your smile again."

This isn't admitting everything, but it is enough. Celebi doesn't answer, but he can see her blush.
